GEORGE MORGAN 2013
CAREER:
• Now 20 years old, George Morgan previously enjoyed a very successful junior career having
been ranked as high as No.6 in the world junior rankings.
• He announced himself on the scene after making the final of Junior Wimbledon boy’s
doubles in 2010.
• But George’s most famous achievement was winning the boy’s doubles title at The 2011
Championships, Wimbledon; was also a singles SF at both 2011 Australian and US Opens
• In December 2011 that he scored the biggest win of his junior singles career, when he
became the first Briton to win the 18U title at the Orange Bowl, three years after he lifted
the 14U trophy.
• George reached the Australian Open Juniors semi-finals and his first title came in
September 2011 at Danerdyd in Sweden where he came through qualifying and then won
both the singles and doubles.
2012-13
• George has continued to appear on the ITF Futures Tour and found his main success in the
doubles format.
• After capturing another doubles title again in Sweden in early 2012 he backed this up with
doubles success in Turkey in October.
• In the singles George had a great run to the semi-finals of the Futures event in Preston
during 2013 but lost to eventual winner Ed Corrie.
