JAMES MARSALEK <strong>2013</strong><br />

CAREER:<br />

• James Marsalek’s favourite surface is grass which is no surprise given his results on the<br />

surface.<br />

• James won both the 16U and 18U AEGON British Junior National Championships in<br />

consecutive years.<br />

• In 2010 he qualified for the AEGON Junior International and flew through the field to<br />

capture his first Grade 1 title before beating the reigning French Open Junior champion at<br />

Junior Wimbledon.<br />

• This was to be one of his last junior events, and he has since focussed on senior ITF events,<br />

2012-13<br />

• James recorded the first senior ITF win of his career when he came away with the doubles<br />

title in the UAE in March last year.<br />

• He then secured his first singles title in Ramat Hasharon, Israel in May this year – beating<br />

Japanese Shuichi Sekiguchi in the final reaching a career-high ranking of 537 on May 20.<br />
