ROSS HUTCHINS 2013
CAREER:
• Ross is one of Britain’s leading doubles players. In March 2007 he made the decision to
concentrate fully on doubles (having reached his best singles ranking of 559 the previous
August) and broke into the world’s top 100 in June whilst also reaching his maiden ATP final
in Nottingham.
• 2008 was his real breakthrough season – he won one ATP title in Beijing (w/Huss) and made
two finals in Moscow and Lyon. In 2009 he reached the semi-finals of San Jose, the semifinals
of Marseille and the final of Tokyo.
• 2010 was equally as successful, with final appearances in Sydney and Memphis, as
well a title win in Montpellier. He won a silver medal in the men’s doubles at the 2010
Commonwealth Games in Delhi
• To start the 2011 season he teamed up with Colin Fleming, and went on to win three titles
including the Athens Challenger, the Aegon Trophy and St Petersburg (first ATP title). The
duo also reached the QF of both Wimbledon and the US Open.
• Ross has represented Great Britain in Davis Cup at seven ties, having won his last three (all
with Fleming) having lost the first four doubles rubbers he played.
2012-13
• Hutchins won his second ATP title (w/Fleming) at Delray Beach in February 2012 (reaching
a career-high ranking of No. 27). At the Aegon International, took a third career ATP title (w/
Fleming) in an all-British final against Delgado and Skupski.
• A final in Newport was sandwiched between 1r losses at Wimbledon and the Olympics,
while a strong Asian swing in the autumn (final in KL and SF in Beijing and Shanghai)
saw Hutchins and Fleming named as the alternate and ninth best team of the year at the
