AMANDA CARRERAS <strong>2013</strong><br />

CAREER:<br />

• Somewhat of a late starter, beginning tennis at nine, Amanda Carreras is one of the most<br />

successful tennis players ever to emerge from Gibraltar.<br />

• She only played nine tournaments during her junior career but began on the ITF tour in<br />

2006.<br />

• Amanda played in Futures events and saw her ranking rise over 300 places in 2008 before<br />

a remarkable run of form saw her win the singles and doubles in two consecutive ITF 10k<br />

events in Antalya-Manavgat, Turkey.<br />

2012-13<br />

• She won the singles title in the $10k event in Getxo, Spain in May 2012.<br />

• Amanda has continued to play in Futures and Challenger events on the ITF Tour and has<br />

gradually raised her world ranking to a peak in <strong>2013</strong> reaching semis and finals.<br />

PERSONAL:<br />

Amanda’s parents are Mark (a commercial pilot) and Joanna, and her personal interests include<br />

football, running and golf.<br />
