January 2003, when the organization recognized Folsom Field’s turf with<br />
the Football Field of the Year Award for the college/university division.<br />
STMA has over 2,400 members, so the award, especially in just the<br />
fourth season since Folsom returned to natural grass, was quite an<br />
honor.<br />
He came to CU from the Baltimore Ravens, where he was the assistant<br />
field manager for a year. Prior to that, he was employed at Iowa<br />
State, where he graduated from in 1999 with bachelor’s degree in horticulture<br />
and turf grass management. He worked two years at ISU as a<br />
student turf manager.<br />
Born May 4, 1974 in Minot, N.D., he graduated from Waterloo (Iowa)<br />
West, where he lettered in baseball and basketball. His hobbies include<br />
golf and basketball. He married Jessica Leigh this past July.<br />
JIM FAIRCHILD<br />
Assistant Director of BuffVision<br />
Jim Fairchild is in his fourth year as the<br />
assistant director of BuffVision, as he<br />
joined the Colorado staff in August 2001<br />
when the athletic department took over<br />
producing its own coaches shows.<br />
In his capacity, he produces “The<br />
Buffalo Stampede,” the weekly shows on<br />
Fox Sports Net featuring Colorado’s head<br />
football and basketball coaches, and<br />
assists with the game day production for<br />
CU’s video display boards and team highlight<br />
films.<br />
Fairchild, 34, came to CU from the<br />
Colorado Rockies, where he worked as the<br />
director of in-game entertainment for two seasons. Prior to that, he<br />
worked two years for Agrivision, an agricultural video production <strong>com</strong>pany<br />
in Denver.<br />
He graduated from Colorado State University in 1993, earning his<br />
bachelor’s degree in technical journalism. Immediately following college,<br />
he worked in sales and at the Coors Brewing Company, doing video<br />
production work.<br />
Born December 27, 1969 in Denver, he graduated from Green<br />
Mountain High School (Lakewood, Colo.), where he lettered in baseball.<br />
Hobbies include motorcycling. He is married to the former Natalie West,<br />
and they have two daughters, Madison (4) and London (3).<br />
ANDREW GREEN<br />
Assistant Sports<br />
Information Director<br />
Andrew Green is in his fourth year as<br />
assistant sports information director at<br />
Colorado, joining the department in<br />
October 2001. He handles the sports information<br />
director duties for men’s basketball<br />
and men’s and women’s tennis.<br />
Green, 36, came to Boulder from The<br />
College of William and Mary, where he<br />
worked three years and served as the<br />
Tribe’s primary contact for women’s basketball,<br />
soccer, and volleyball. He also<br />
assisted with all of W&M’s 20 varsity teams,<br />
including its Division I-AA football program.<br />
He served as the media coordinator for the 1998 and 1999 NCAA<br />
women’s soccer tournaments as well as the 1999 Colonial Athletic<br />
Association Volleyball Championships.<br />
He graduated from Ashland (Ohio) University in 1996 with a bachelor’s<br />
degree in sports <strong>com</strong>munications. He was a graduate student<br />
assistant in the sports information office at California University of<br />
Pennsylvania where he was the media liaison for the 1997 national<br />
champion softball team.<br />
Born January 31, 1968 in Batavia, N.Y., Green graduated from LeRoy<br />
(N.Y.) High, where he lettered in basketball and tennis. He is married to<br />
CU’s athletic travel coordinator, the former Jennifer Anderson.<br />

JAMIE GUY<br />
Assistant Sports Video Director<br />
Jamie Guy is in his fourth year as the<br />
assistant sports video director, as he joined<br />
the Colorado staff in August 2001.<br />
Guy, 29, came to CU from the Chicago<br />
Enforcers of the now-defunct XFL, where<br />
he worked the lone season of the league’s<br />
existence.<br />
He graduated from the University of<br />
Cincinnati in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree<br />
in general studies. As a student, he worked<br />
in the Bearcats’ sports video office for four<br />
years. Prior to entering the sports video<br />
profession, he worked as an electrician’s<br />
apprentice and as a staff manager at<br />
Fitworks Fitness.<br />
Born March 18, 1975 in Cincinnati, Ohio, he graduated from<br />
Lawrence Central High School (Indianapolis, Ind.) in 1994, where he lettered<br />
in track and football. His hobbies include collecting football<br />
memorabilia and playing the guitar. He is married (Kimberly).<br />
TIM HORTON<br />
Olympic Sports<br />
Equipment Manager<br />
Tim Horton is in his 12th year as<br />
Olympic Sports equipment manager, as he<br />
joined the CU staff in the fall of 1992. He<br />
coordinates the equipment needs of CU’s<br />
16 intercollegiate sport programs aside<br />
from football, which he assists with on<br />
home game days.<br />
Horton, 47, came to CU from Bank One<br />
(formerly Affiliated National Bank), where<br />
he had worked as a personal banker and<br />
other assorted positions for 12 years. His<br />
primary duties at Colorado are handling<br />
the equipment needs for basketball and the<br />
non-revenue sports, along with helping the football program.<br />
The student-athletes selected him as the 2002-03 Staff Member of the<br />
Year for his contributions and time dedicated to the success of the<br />
members of CU’s 17 intercollegiate programs, presenting him with the<br />
honor at the 2003 CUSPY’s.<br />
He graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in 1979,<br />
earning a bachelor’s of science degree in business administration and<br />
marketing. He was a member of the Bears’ ski team while in college.<br />
Born Dec. 11, 1956 in Leadville, Colo., he graduated from Boulder’s<br />
Fairview High in 1975, where he lettered in football. An avid bicyclist, he<br />
participated in the <strong>2004</strong> Ride The Rockies to test his endurance over the<br />
350-plus mile trek. He is married to the former Tammy Collins, and the<br />
couple has a son, Davis Paul (13).<br />
TROY KEMA<br />
Assistant Director for<br />
Academics<br />
Troy Kema is in his second year as the<br />
assistant director for academics, as he<br />
joined the Buffalo staff in July 2003 from a<br />
similar position at his alma mater, Utah<br />
State University.<br />
Kema, 32, worked for three years as an<br />
academic advisor at Utah State (since June<br />
2000), working mainly with the men’s and<br />
women’s tennis, men’s and women’s track<br />
and men’s golf programs, along with the<br />
football linemen, both offensive and defensive.<br />
He performed a variety of duties at<br />
USU, including evaluation of recruits, track-
