apparel agreements for athletics.<br />

He earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from Bucknell in 1987,<br />

and received his master’s in education and sports administration from<br />

Temple University in 1994.<br />

Prior to his career at Villanova, he spent 20 months as the director<br />

of licensing at Temple University, and over five years before that as an<br />

account representative with the Xerox Corporation in Morris Plains, N.J.<br />

He was an assistant coach with USA Water Polo in 1983 and 1984,<br />

instructing more than 80 nationally ranked players at the U.S. Olympic<br />

Training Center in Colorado Springs. He worked mainly with the Under<br />

18 Elite Team, as he was well qualified for the position due to his lettering<br />

four times in water polo at Bucknell, where he was a first-team<br />

all-East selection and team captain as a senior. He also has logged time<br />

as a high school swimming and water polo head coach.<br />

Born December 17, 1964 in Meadowbrook, Pa., he graduated from<br />

the Lawrenceville (N.J.) School in 1983, where he lettered in swimming<br />

and water polo. His hobbies include cooking, reading, and almost any<br />

sport in the water. He is single.<br />

DAVE GIORDANO<br />

Director of Sales & Marketing/<br />

Club Seats & Suites<br />

Dave Giordano is in his fourth year as<br />

the director of sales and marketing for CU’s<br />

club seats and suites. The construction of<br />

the new structure atop the east side of<br />

Folsom Field was <strong>com</strong>pleted prior to the<br />

2003 season.<br />

In his position, Giordano, 34, coordinates<br />

sales of all premium football seats for<br />

CU, including the Flatirons Club. When all is<br />

said and done, he will be responsible for<br />

almost 3,000 seats and 49 suites on both<br />

sides of the stadium.<br />

Prior to his promotion, he worked as<br />

the athletic department’s events coordinator from 1994 until taking<br />

over business manager duties for the Golden Buffalo Scholarship Fund<br />

three years later. He first came to CU from Northwestern Mutual Life,<br />

where he worked in sales for a year in the Boulder office.<br />

He graduated from Claremont McKenna College (Claremont, Calif.)<br />

in 1991, earning his bachelor’s degree in both economics and mathematics.<br />

He earned his MBA in marketing from CU-Boulder in 1992.<br />

Born November 3, 1969 in Philadelphia, Pa., he graduated Salpointe<br />

Catholic High School (Tucson, Ariz.) in 1987, where he played soccer.<br />

His hobbies include hiking, fishing and softball. He is married to the former<br />

Shelly Simmons, and they have a daughter, Courtney (2), and a son,<br />

Ryan (1).<br />

BILL HARRIS<br />

Alumni C-Club Director<br />

Bill Harris is in his fourth year as the<br />

Alumni C Club Director, as he was named to<br />

the position in May 2001. He is responsible<br />

for developing relationships with letterwinners<br />

in all sports, maintain <strong>com</strong>munication<br />

with them, provide opportunities for them<br />

to return to campus and coordinate various<br />

alumni functions and activities.<br />

Harris, 62, has continued on a part-time<br />

basis in CU’s Alumni Association office,<br />

where he has been working since October<br />

2000, to strengthen the Black Alumni<br />

Association on campus.<br />

Also known as “Buffalo” Bill Harris, he<br />

lettered three times in football at CU between 1961 and 1963, leading the<br />

team in rushing as a junior with 582 yards in 1962. He is one of 47 players<br />

in school history to have rushed for over 1,000 yards in a CU career,<br />

as he is 26th on the all-time list with 1,486. He still stands 24th all-time<br />

in all-purpose yards, as he amassed 2,411 via rushing, receiving and<br />

He relocated back to Colorado in 2000 from Paramus, N.J., where had<br />

resided since 1974. He was a healthcare executive for over 25 years,<br />

with extensive experience in administering acute medicine, as well as<br />

long-term and ambulatory care, personnel, <strong>com</strong>munity medical outreach<br />

programs and regulatory agencies. He spent most of that time as<br />

an administrator at the Bergen Pines Community Hospital before <strong>com</strong>pleting<br />

his medical career as the vice president of operations for the<br />

Bergen (County) Regional Medical Center where he oversaw a $25 million<br />

budget. He also was active in the <strong>com</strong>munity, ranging from New<br />

Jersey Supreme Court Arbitrary Committee and Community Chest work<br />

to 14 years coaching little league baseball.<br />

An at-large member on the board of the Colorado chapter of the<br />

National Football Foundation and College Football Hall of Fame, he was<br />

a board member for several years for the Bergen County chapter and<br />

received their Distinguished American Award in 2001.<br />

He attended CU from 1960 through 1964, but finished up his bachelor’s<br />

degree in Education at Montclair (N.J.) State University in 1968, and<br />

then earned his master’s in both Sociology and Business from MSU in<br />

1972.<br />

Following his playing days at CU, he was drafted by the NFL’s New<br />

York Giants. He went on to play three years in the Canadian Football<br />

League, for Ottawa in 1964 and then Calgary in 1965-66.<br />

Born May 30, 1942 in New Jersey, he is a graduate of Hackensack<br />

High School. He is married (Susan), is the father of two, son Trevor and<br />

daughter Lisa, and is the grandfather of two.<br />

PREMA KHANNA<br />

Director of Marketing<br />

Prema Khanna is in her first year as CU’s<br />

director of marketing, as she was promoted<br />

to the position July 7, <strong>2004</strong>. She is in her<br />

third year overall the department, having<br />

worked two years as promotions manager<br />

for the Buffaloes after joining the staff in<br />

August 2002. She is responsible for coordinating<br />

marketing efforts for football,<br />

basketball and volleyball ticket sales, as<br />

well as promotions both on and-off the<br />

fields and courts, including game day<br />

atmosphere.<br />

Khanna, 33, came to Colorado from<br />

Texas Tech, where she worked two years as<br />

the director of marketing and promotions. She got her start at Missouri,<br />

her alma mater, as a graduate assistant in 1995, and was hired full-time<br />

the following year as marketing and promotions coordinator. In 1997,<br />

she was promoted to assistant director of marketing and held that position<br />

for the next three years before moving on to Texas Tech in 2000.<br />

She graduated from the University of Missouri with a bachelor’s<br />

degree in business administration in 1995, and earned her master’s<br />

degree in sports administration from MU in 1997.<br />

Born July 29, 1971 in Haldwani, India, her family moved to Cleveland,<br />

Ohio, when she was a toddler, and then to Toronto, Ontario in second<br />

grade. She lived in Canada until she was 13, when her family established<br />

residency in Columbia, Mo. She graduated from Rock Bridge High<br />

School, where she played tennis. She is single.<br />

DERIC SWANSON<br />

Director of BuffVision<br />

Deric Swanson is in his sixth year as the<br />

Director of BuffVision, coordinating all<br />

aspects of production involving the $3.6<br />

million video display board operation for<br />

athletics (first installed at Folsom Field for<br />

the 1999 season). He’s the only BuffVision<br />

director CU has ever had.<br />

Swanson, 30, came to CU from Ascent<br />

Sports, Inc., in Denver, where he had<br />

worked for a brief time as the manager of<br />

game entertainment and video production.<br />

He had previously worked three-plus seasons<br />

with the Colorado Rockies Baseball<br />

Club, first as a stadium camera operator,
