his junior season, the lone Buff to ever<br />

make the squad as a non-senior… He caught 68 passes for 1,078<br />

yards in his CU career, numbers that both ranked second at the<br />

time of his graduation and remain in the top 20 all-time… A twosport<br />

star at CU (he also lettered in basketball, averaging 14.1<br />

points in 58 career games), Logan might just be the only athlete<br />

drafted in three sports: he was a third round pick by Cleveland in<br />

the 1976 NFL Draft (65th overall); the Kansas City Kings nabbed<br />

him in the ninth round of the ’76 NBA Draft; and the Cincinnati<br />

Reds had drafted him as an infielder and pitcher in the 19th round<br />

of baseball’s June draft out of high school… He played in 119 NFL<br />

games with Cleveland (1976-83) and Denver (1984)… Snared 263<br />

passes for 4,250 yards and 24 touchdowns in his pro career… Has<br />

first-team All Big-Eight performer (middle guard in ‘71, linebacker-tackle<br />

in ‘72)… Second on the team in tackles as a soph<br />

(104) and first as a junior (111), he was the first player in school<br />

history to record a pair of 100-tackles seasons… Played the first<br />

five games at linebacker as a junior before returning up front for<br />

the rest of the year… The national player-of-the-week for his 20tackle<br />

performance (nine solo) in CU’s 20-14 win at Ohio State in<br />

1971… Voted the Big Eight’s top sophomore in 1971… A Marine<br />

Corps veteran by the time he enrolled at CU, he won two purple<br />

hearts in Vietnam… He was decorated for bravery under fire as a<br />

settled back home in Colorado where he starred as a prep; he is a<br />

high school head coach, a longtime participant in the radio<br />

sportstalk scene in Denver, and is the radio play-by-play voice of<br />

the Denver Broncos after several years as the color analyst… He<br />

also worked several CU football games for KCNC-TV as the color<br />

<strong>com</strong>mentator.<br />

Quantico before landing in Boulder… In need of money, he signed a<br />

professional contract with British Columbia of the Canadian<br />

Football League in the spring of 1973; he played two seasons with<br />

the Lions before trying out with the San Diego Chargers… He died<br />

in 1991 in an automobile accident in Reno, Nevada… His son, Ryan,<br />

walked on as a member of the football team in 1999, but injuries cut<br />

short his career.<br />
