Expected cost of the project will be Rs. '175 Crores. The proposed expansion will be within
existing premises and no additional land will be required. Requirement of fresh water will be
3048 KLD after the proposed expansion, which will be fulfilled lhrough Gujarat Waier
Infrastructure Ltd. (GWIL). There will be no industrial efflueni generation from process. lt is
proposed to install one Boiler of 30 TPH capacity for generation of power (6 MW) as
standby arrangement for existing WHRB plant. lmported coal - 125 MT/day and coal char -
56 MT/day will be used as fuel in the proposed 30 TPH Boiler and ESP will be provided as
APCM. Proposed 30 TPH Boiler will be operated when exlsting sponge iron kiln is not in
operation (i.e. WHRB plant non operation phase) and total power generation shall not
increase from existing 12 MW. lt is also proposed to install three Reheating Furnaces of 40,
30 and 20 TPH capacities. FO - 3.5 Kuday and Gasifier gas will be used as a fuel in
Reheeting Furnaces and bag fitter will be provided as APCM. Total ash generation will be
1258 lVlT/Month (1006-4 MT/Nilonth fly ash + 251,6 MTiMonth bed ash), which will be stored
in RCG Silos and subsequently utitized in caplive brick manufacturing plant at WGSRL or
sold to cement manufacturers, Slag - 2266 MT/Month will be utitized in brick. manufacturing
or road construciion or sold as aggregate for construction activity. Mill scale - 120
MT/Month will be reused in process. Existing green bell is 6 hectares and it is proposed to
develop 1 1 .48 hectare area as green belt.
The technical presentation by the project proponent included product protile, general
information about ihe project, site map, products, raw materials and utilities, waste
generation, hazards and control, water consumption and efftuent generation, water balance
diagram, analysis of pollution parameters before and after plant working, pollrrtion
parameters and assessment with siandards (norms), resource consumption and
conservation, risk estimation, proposed TOR etc.
While asking by the commiftee, the project proponent confirmed that total production of
sponge iron for captive consumption and for selling outslde will not increase from existing
