Fine Arts Corner T H E T I T A N V I E W PAGE 8 Tri-M Music Honor Society Tri-M had a very busy spring. In addition to monthly meetings, several students from chorus, orchestra and band performed at various locations throughout the community including Belmont Village Retirement Home. During Music in Our Schools Month, students performed a wide variety of musical styles in the school courtyard. Featured performers included Eric Kim, Jenny Tortoriello, MacKenzie Perpich, Daniel Chyan and Christina Pasqualone. Students also performed for each other at meetings to share their musical talents. Tri-M Music Honor Society current and new officers from left to right: Karen Xian, Eric Kim, Daniel Chyan, Ms. Moras, Ben Cecil, Christina Pasqualone, and Abby Williams The annual JAM Fest (Johns Creek Appreciation of Music) event was held in conjunction with the Induction Ceremony of new members. The JAM fest program included performances by Justin Stillabower, Nik Fuller, Suzanna Tertichney and Soleil Robichaud. Forty-three new members from chorus, band and orchestra received their membership certificate starting in the 2009-2010 school year. New officers were announced for 2009/2010: Co-presidents Daniel Chyan & Abby Williams; Vice President Karen Xiao.

www.northviewhigh.com Band Our Marching Titan Band just completed the spring leadership auditions and we are happy to announce the following student leaders for the 2009- 2010 season: Rachel Puecher, head drum major Patrick Dekold, assistant drum major Richard Catalfano, drum captain Shanique Estevez, head Color Guard captain Erin Snow, Color Guard co-captain Katie Ohnemus, Color Guard cocaptain Missy Rankin, Color Guard manager Maria Smith, Color guard manager Michelle Rockers, flute section leader Eric Falls, clarinet section leader Brent Tillis, saxophone section leader Zach Ruege, trumpet section leader Sarah Ginsberg, mellophone section leader Jin Lee, trombone section leader Zora Johnson, baritone section leader David Cornwell, tuba section leader On Wednesday, May 6, all four concert bands and two jazz bands presented their final concert of the year! Guest conductor was Mr. Jimmy West, the student teacher from Georgia State University. All groups did a great job this year and should be very proud of their accomplishments! Theater Northview Theatre closed the 2008-2009 season with our fourth annual Dessert Theatre of two one -act plays: Art by Yazmina Resa and Audience by Michael Frayn. Art was co-directed by Jeffrey Moro and Elizabeth Gathers, Audience was co-directed by Veronica Evans and Paul McClain, and the Troupe 6577 at Spring Induction wait staff was led by Graham Sweeney. International Thespian Society Attends Thespian Conference 2009 A few of Troupe 6577’s accomplishments at the 2009 Georgia Thespian Conference include: 12 juniors and seniors audi- Fine Arts Department Awards Banquet The awards banquet was held on May 15 in the Food Court. Highlights of the event, besides being deliciously catered by Maggiano’s restaurant, were presentations by all Fine Arts departments. Featured awards: The National Choral Award was given to Christina Pasqualone for four years of exemplary accomplishments. Christina also received the Musical Theatre Award of Excellence. The Woody Herman Jazz Award was given to Justin Stillabower. VOLUME 7, ISSUE 3 A Scene From Audience tioned for colleges and received a total of 72 callbacks. Jennifer Allman received the Theatre Educator Scholarship from the Educational Theatre Association. Nathan Moon was named an All-Star Technician for his work on Patient A. The cast and crew of Patient A were also honored for their excellence in performance at conference. Our school was honored for raising the most money for Broadway Cares: Equity Fights AIDS of any high school in Georgia. Christina Pasqualone earned a superior rating for her performance of “I’m Here” from The Color Purple. Christina was also a soloist in the conference Opening Number.
