In January 2008, twenty five <strong>Northview</strong> students spent a week in Washington D.C. seeing all of the<br />
sights there were to see as well as meeting Georgia members of Congress, attending a Washington Capitol‟s<br />
game, shopping in Georgetown and meeting many new friends from schools from around the nation.<br />
This past January, twenty <strong>Northview</strong> students and two teachers left early morning January 17 th on a 6 am<br />
flight out of Atlanta heading to Washington D.C. and straight into history to witness the Inauguration of<br />
our 44 th President. Regardless of political affiliation and views, students were witness to the peaceful<br />
transition of power that has been a part of our nation‟s history for over 200 years.<br />
January 17, 2010 will mark the 4 th year <strong>Northview</strong> has participated in Close Up! Enrollment is open to<br />
any student currently at <strong>Northview</strong> regardless of what school you will attend next year. We want as<br />
many students to experience this unique program with memories and new friends that will last a lifetime.<br />
This year’s program includes:<br />
6 days and 5 nights in Washington D. C., with the option to add an extra day depending upon interest.<br />
Extra day adds approximately $180.<br />
Visits to Lincoln and Jefferson memorials, the White House, Supreme Court, the Holocaust Museum,<br />
the Smithsonian, the Newseum, International Spy Museum, and MORE.<br />
Capitol Hill day where students will meet with Georgia members of Congress and tour one of the<br />
most well known buildings in the world.<br />
A day with your teachers to visit the sights and student-chosen activities.<br />
Important Information:<br />
Tuition: Total with transportation $1159, which includes airfare, hotel, food and all entry fees.<br />
This year, students can enroll and make their payments online now! Not only will this help by allowing<br />
you to gradually make payments over time, but if you pay the $100 deposit by August 1 st you<br />
will lock in our early bird price.<br />
Close Up arranges all travel, hotels and tours.<br />
Deposit: $100 non-refundable due by August 1 st .<br />
E-Registration: All participants must register at CloseUp.org, It's quick and easy. Register yourself<br />
ASAP then go to 'Participants: Enroll and Pay' under Inauguration Information <strong>Northview</strong> <strong>School</strong><br />
ID# (AT245).This is the same site you will manage your account, enrollment and payment.<br />
Fundraising Opportunities:<br />
Letters will be available for students to send to businesses and individuals to help sponsor you in paying<br />
for part of your entire trip.<br />
