At last the time has come around again! In April the
bauma 2013 will open its gates at the exhibition site in Munich
(Neue Messe München) from 15. to 21. April 2013. The exhibition
area for this year’s fair has been extended to the record size of
570 000 square metres. The bauma is not only the internationally
leading event for construction and building materials machinery
and equipment, but also the largest fair in the world for
mining equipment. The partner country of this year’s event is
Indonesia. This country has a large growth potential due to its
vast raw material deposits.
Indonesia’s raw material deposits are the sixth largest
in the world. According to the Ministry of Energy and Mineral
Resources, this country comes fifth worldwide as regards the
reserves of tin; it comes seventh regarding copper and fifteenth
concerning coal. The overall capital spending in the Indonesian
mining sector amounted to 3187 million US$ in 2010. Of this, 764
million was allotted to coal, 1480 million to other mining activities
and 905 million US$ was allotted to mining services. The
polling institute Business Monitor International (BMI) predicts
an average annual growth rate of ten to eleven percent up to
2014. The production value is expected to reach 123 billion US$
in 2014. *
The bauma 2010 welcomed exhibitors from 53 countries
as well as more than 420 000 visitors from more than 200
countries. You should also look forward with great interest to
this major event that takes place every three years. We wish the
