Electric power supply<br />

The types and lengths <strong>of</strong> the electricity networks in Bistrita municipality:<br />

- LA 20 kW – 30 km in Bistrita and the included <strong>local</strong>ities<br />

- LA low tension – 158 km in Bistrita<br />

- LES medium tension – 53.13 km in Bistrita;<br />

- Trans<strong>for</strong>mer station (building) – 103 in Bistrita and the included <strong>local</strong>ities;<br />

- Aerial trans<strong>for</strong>mer station – 35 in Bistrita.<br />

On 31.12.2003, all housing built be<strong>for</strong>e 1989 was supplied with electricity.<br />

New housing, built after 1989, is not entirely connected to the electric network.<br />

On 31.12.2003 S.C.Electrica, Bistrita branch, recorded the following housing groups with no electricity supply:<br />

There are possibilities to extend the electricity network<br />

within the city borders and to the peri-urban area.<br />

Malfunctions in energy supply are mostly due to the<br />

expansion <strong>of</strong> the built areas. This situation led to the<br />

necessity <strong>of</strong> connecting certain areas to the electricity<br />

network and supplementing the power in 2 areas:<br />

Lempes and Valea Jelnei.<br />

A recent malfunction appeared because the landfill<br />

expanded in height, close to the medium power line<br />

(20 kV). The work <strong>for</strong> the ecological landfill is set to<br />

start; the technical <strong>plan</strong>s (including the power supply)<br />

are currently being drawn up.<br />

Thermal energy supply<br />

1. Length <strong>of</strong> thermal energy network, 31.12.2003:<br />

- 29,047m primary thermal network<br />

- 34,600m thermal distribution network<br />

2. Possibilities <strong>of</strong> expanding the thermal energy<br />

network:<br />

The following actions are included in the strategy <strong>for</strong><br />

the rehabilitation and modernisation <strong>of</strong> the thermal<br />

agent transportation and distribution system:<br />

eliminating the distribution network, extending the<br />

primary thermal network up to the consumers and<br />

installing thermal micro-stations at their locations.<br />

3. Malfunctions in the supply network: in light <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>development</strong>s on the thermal energy market, the<br />

system currently used overrides the actual number <strong>of</strong><br />

clients, which leads to risks <strong>for</strong> the functioning <strong>of</strong> the<br />

<strong>local</strong> thermal power <strong>plan</strong>t.<br />

Due to the advanced usage <strong>of</strong> the networks and their<br />

lack <strong>of</strong> balance (related to the low number <strong>of</strong> clients)<br />

there are flaws which produce losses. The losses<br />

affect the quality <strong>of</strong> the thermal parameters and fixing<br />

them requires disconnections.
