Nature<br />

This project aims to <strong>of</strong>fer children and youth (3-18<br />

years) the opportunity to be in<strong>for</strong>med about the<br />

environment, the negative manmade influences in<br />

damaging the natural environment, the means to<br />

protect the <strong>for</strong>est, its impact on the environment and<br />

the positive effects <strong>of</strong> <strong>for</strong>ests.<br />

programme: the direct beneficiaries will be the young<br />

persons, but also other inhabitants <strong>of</strong> the city<br />

Project aim:<br />

Supporting the establishment and <strong>development</strong> <strong>of</strong><br />

specialised structures to ensure permanent<br />

consulting/training in prioritised fields <strong>for</strong> developing<br />

<strong>sustainable</strong> business.<br />

assistance will be provided by the Phare Programme if<br />

the project is approved <strong>for</strong> financing<br />

• The social impact and/or impact on the<br />

environment:<br />

The social impact will be significant because the<br />

implementation <strong>of</strong> this project will create possibilities<br />

to support and develop the business environment on<br />

both a <strong>local</strong> and regional level, especially <strong>for</strong> newly<br />

founded firms or firms in difficult situations. New work<br />

places will be created <strong>for</strong> <strong>local</strong>s and stabilisation on<br />

the social level will follow.<br />

• The influence <strong>of</strong> the programme on the <strong>local</strong>,<br />

regional and/or national economy:<br />

in a market economy, the SME sector is decisive to<br />

proper functionality at a macroeconomic level. The<br />

project supports this type <strong>of</strong> economic agents in<br />

particular. It is known that SMEs are vulnerable to the<br />

changes that take place on the market, especially in<br />

the context <strong>of</strong> EU integration. By creating business<br />

incubators, these economic agents will be supported<br />

in entering the market and creating regional and<br />

national contacts so that their activity can develop in<br />

the medium and long term. Products specific to each<br />

company can be presented through the marketing<br />

Centre at the product market/fair. Exhibitions <strong>of</strong><br />

handicraft products specific to the area can also be<br />

organised.<br />

• Potential users/beneficiaries <strong>of</strong> the<br />

programme/project:<br />

Business environment, especially new SMEs in<br />

Bistrita municipality.<br />

• External financing sources:<br />

An application was submitted by the city halls <strong>of</strong><br />

Bistrita and Baia Mare and Dej city in order obtain<br />

financing <strong>for</strong> the project within the Phare Programme<br />

2004-2006: “Big projects <strong>for</strong> regional infrastructure”.<br />

• Location <strong>of</strong> the future investment: the<br />

municipalities <strong>of</strong> Bistrita and Baia Mare, and the city <strong>of</strong><br />

Dej.
