Strength & Conditioning Strength & Conditioning Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium WEIGHT ROOM The Louisville strength and conditioning facility, located in the Howard Schnellenberger Football Complex, was built in 1998 and features the latest in strength training equipment. CORE TRAINING: “Our program starts at the core—the torso, low back and hips—and addresses needs here first. We believe core/hip strength & power correlate to improved athleticism.” INSTRUCTION: “We have 4 coaches whose sole responsibility is football. Sean Griswold and Bryan Dermody, each had opportunities to be head coaches at I-A schools last winter, but chose to stay and help a special bunch of kids try to reach their highest goals.” TECHNIQUE: “We have the staff and tools to really evaluate & analyze each individual’s needs. U of L’s football strength & conditioning facility includes more than 10,500 square feet of floor space, 20,000 pounds of free weights, a line of Hammer strength equipment, 16 multipurpose Power Lift rack stations and 16 Olympic lifting platforms equipped with Uesaka bumper plates.
