The Cardinals own the nation’s second-longest home winning streak at 18<br />
games. Louisville is 22-1 at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium since the 2003<br />
season.<br />
The Cardinals earned nine straight bowl berths from 1998-2006 and was just<br />
one of seven schools in the country to play in a bowl game in each one of<br />
those seasons.<br />
The Cardinals have won four conference champions (3 C-USA and 1 BIG<br />
EAST) since the 2000 season. Louisville won league titles in 2000 and 2001<br />
under John L. Smith and 2004 and 2006 with Bobby Petrino at the helm.<br />
The Cardinals won their first-ever BIG EAST title with a 6-1 league record.<br />
Louisville also captured the league’s automatic BCS berth and defeated<br />
Wake Forest, 24-13, in the Orange Bowl — the school’s first-ever BCS Bowl<br />
win.
