McGhee worked four years as assistant athletic<br />

trainer at Harvard University (1973-77) and a pair of<br />

two year stints as head athletic trainer and equipment<br />

manager at Texas Southern University (1971-73) and<br />

Mississippi Valley State University (1969-71).<br />

McGhee earned a bachelor’s degree in physical<br />

education and science at Mississippi Valley State in<br />

1969; and a master’s degree in human movement and<br />

physical education at Boston University in 1975.<br />

He and his wife, the former Linda Bell, have one<br />

daughter: Veronica.<br />

In his 10th season<br />

as stadium manager for<br />

Papa John’s Cardinal<br />

Stadium, K.C. Scull<br />

brings a wealth of<br />

experience to the U of L<br />

athletic department.<br />

Scull joined the<br />

Cardinals in the spring of 1997 after serving five years<br />

as the deputy director of athletics at the U.S. Military<br />

Academy. In his current position, Scull oversees the<br />

day-to-day operation of PJCS and the Brown and<br />

Williamson Club, including scheduling and management<br />

of athletic events, public gatherings, corporate<br />

and private activities, and concerts.<br />

Scull, who rose to the rank of Army Colonel<br />

before retiring from the military, directed nearly 100<br />

staff and support personnel for Army’s 24 men’s and<br />

women’s intercollegiate athletic programs. He directly<br />

supervised maintenance, scheduling and business<br />

activities for the Cadets’ major athletic facilities.<br />

A 1969 graduate of USMA with a degree in<br />

engineering, Scull played football for three seasons as<br />

a defensive tackle. He returned to the Academy from<br />

1975-78 while serving as an active duty assistant coach<br />

and admissions support officer for the athletic<br />

department. He earned a master’s degree in public<br />

administration at Oklahoma as well as a master's<br />

degree in business administration from U of L.<br />

Commissioned in the Infantry branch of the U.S.<br />

Army upon his graduation from West Point, Scull held<br />

a variety of <strong>com</strong>mands and staff positions including<br />

<strong>com</strong>mand of the 1st Battalion, 14th Infantry at Schofield<br />

Barracks, Hawaii. Overseas tours took him to Germany<br />

and Vietnam.<br />

Scull and his wife Micheleen have five children:<br />

Amara Minnis, Megan Williams, Ryla, Kendra and<br />

Sheilleys duties include bidding and managing<br />

Olympic championship tournaments both at the<br />

conference and national levels, as well as coordinating<br />

the Cardinals’ LCare program as part of the<br />

NCAA CHAMPS Lifeskills. U of L has served as<br />

host of the NCAA Field Hockey Championship,<br />

NCAA Baseball Super Regionals, Big East<br />

Volleyball, and numerous other NCAA and Big East<br />

championships during her stint. The LCare Program<br />

is a <strong>com</strong>prehensive student support system that<br />

supports the vital <strong>com</strong>mitments to student-athletes in<br />

Academic Excellence, Student Development, Career<br />

Planning, Community Service (CardsCare), and<br />

Athletic Excellence.<br />

Sheilley served as Assistant Compliance<br />

Coordinator and Olympic Championships Director at<br />

U of L from 2002 until her current position. Prior to<br />

that, she was the volleyball coach at Lindsey Wilson<br />

College from 1996-2001 and as well as the softball<br />

coach there from 1996-2000. A four-time coach of<br />

the year, she also served as Program Director/<br />

Instructor for the Physical Education/Health Program.<br />

After receiving her Masters degree from Eastern<br />

Kentucky in 1995, she served as a health instructor at<br />

EKU. She was an ambassador for the Chinese<br />

Olympic Softball Team during the 1996 Olympics.<br />

Sheilley played volleyball, basketball, and softball for<br />

Asbury College, where she earned a bachelor’s<br />

degree in education. She earned Asbury’s highest<br />

honor for a student-athlete by winning the Gamble-<br />

Walker Award for academics and athletics. She<br />

earned a Ph.D. in educational leadership with a<br />

concentration in sport administration from Louisville<br />

in 2004.<br />

joins the Cardinals<br />

after serving two years as the Director of Compliance<br />

at the University of Pittsburgh, and two and a half<br />

years as Assistant Athletic Director/Director of<br />

Compliance and Student Services for Robert Morris<br />

University.<br />

Sykes’ duties include interpreting NCAA and<br />

BIG EAST Conference rules for the athletic<br />

department staff and student-athletes, processing<br />

appeals and waivers, and monitoring and facilitating<br />

all aspects of initial and continuing eligibility. She<br />

also assists with NCAA rules education for the<br />

coaches, university staff and other outside entities<br />

and helps investigate NCAA infractions matters.<br />

A former collegiate golfer, Sykes was a four-time<br />

letter winner with the University of Montana<br />

Grizzlies where she earned a B.S. degree with honors<br />

in Business Administration in 1998. During her<br />

tenure at Montana, she was the Student-Athlete<br />

Advisory Committee (SAAC) president and Big Sky<br />

Conference representative to the National SAAC for<br />

Division I, as well as an intern in the <strong>com</strong>pliance<br />

office and athletic equipment room.<br />

Sykes was a recipient of a NCAA Postgraduate<br />

Scholarship and the NCAA Women and Ethnic<br />

Minorities Internship in 1998-99. She accepted the<br />

internship with the Championships department at the<br />

NCAA and later, <strong>com</strong>pleted her graduate work at the<br />

University of Arkansas in 2001, earning a Master of<br />

Education degree in Sport Management. While at<br />

Arkansas, Sykes served as the Assistant Women’s<br />

Golf Coach from 1999-2000 and the Compliance<br />

Assistant for the Men’s Athletic Department from<br />

2000-01.<br />

A native of Rife, Colorado, Sykes is a member of<br />

the National Association of Collegiate Women<br />

Athletics Administrators (NACWAA), the National<br />

Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics<br />

(NACDA) and the National Association of Academic<br />

Advisors for Athletics (N4A).
