• U of L won its 16th straight game at home,<br />
the longest winning streak in school history<br />
and the second longest in the nation (behind<br />
USC). U of L is 20-1 in Papa John’s Cardinal<br />
Stadium under coach Bobby Petrino.<br />
• U of L improved to 8-0 on the season,<br />
matching the Cardinals’ only unbeaten season<br />
in 1925.<br />
• The two teams <strong>com</strong>bined for a BIG EAST<br />
Conference record 1,008 yards (Louisville<br />
468, West Virginia 540), breaking the old mark<br />
of 907 produced by Virginia Tech (504) and<br />
Syracuse (403) on Nov. 9, 2002.<br />
• Junior quarterback Brian Brohm <strong>com</strong>pleted<br />
19-of-26 passes for 354 yards, his eighth<br />
career 300-yard passing game (second-highest<br />
at U of L) and third this season. His 354<br />
passing yards was his best since throwing for a<br />
career-high 389 against USF last season.<br />
• Junior placekicker Art Carmody booted field<br />
goals of 39, 25 and 18 yards to improve to 14of-15<br />
on field goals this season. It was<br />
Carmody’s fourth career game with three field<br />
goals and his third this year (also vs. Middle<br />
Tennessee, Cincinnati). He has connected on<br />
28 of his last 29 attempts (40-of-46 for his<br />
career).
