• The Cardinals moved to 5-0 first the first time<br />

under head coach Bobby Petrino and have won<br />

10 of their last 11 games.<br />

• QB Hunter Cantwell is 3-1 as a starter after<br />

leading the Cardinals to a 44-17 win over<br />

Middle Tennessee. He threw for a career-best<br />

340 yards and tied a career-best with three<br />

touchdown passes. Cantwell also tossed three<br />

TD passes in the Gator Bowl loss to Virginia<br />

Tech.<br />

• WR Mario Urrutia recorded a 68-yard<br />

touchdown reception in the first quarter to tie<br />

the score at 10-10. It was his third TD reception<br />

of 50 or more yards this season and the sixth in<br />

his two seasons with the Cardinals. He caught<br />

four passes for 134 yards, the fifth 100-yard<br />

receiving game of his career. He has caught 17<br />

passes for a team-high 405 yards and is<br />

averaging 23.8 yards per catch.<br />

• Louisville ran for two more touchdowns<br />

giving them 19 this season, which is tied for the<br />

second-best mark inthe country.<br />

• The Cardinals amassed 526 yards of total<br />

offense, the third time this season the Cardinals<br />

went over the 500-yard mark. It’s also the 23rd<br />

time the Cardinals reached that total under<br />

Petrino.<br />

• U of L won its 15th straight game at home,<br />

the longest winning streak in school history<br />

and the second longest in the nation (behind<br />

USC). U of L is 19-1 in Papa John’s Cardinal<br />

Stadium under head coach Bobby Petrino.<br />

• U of L improved to 6-0 for the first time<br />

since 1972, when the Cardinals finished with a<br />

9-1 record and were the tri-champion of the<br />

MVC.<br />

• Junior quarterback Brian Brohm made the<br />

start for the Cardinals after missing the last<br />

two games with a thumb injury. He <strong>com</strong>pleted<br />

20-of-37 passes for 324 yards today, his<br />

seventh career 300-yard passing game<br />

(second-highest at U of L).<br />

• Junior placekicker Art Carmody booted field<br />

goals of 32 and 42 yards in the second quarter<br />

and added a 35-yarder in the fourth quarter to<br />

improve to 11-of-12 on field goals this season.<br />

It was Carmody’s third career game with three<br />

field goals and his second this year (also vs.<br />

Middle Tennessee). He has connected on 25 of<br />

his last 26 attempts. Carmody is 8-for-8 from<br />

over 40 yards in his career.<br />

• Junior tight end Gary Barnidge produced a<br />

career-best with five catches for 96 yards. He<br />

scored on a one-yard TD reception in the third<br />

quarter.<br />
