EVALUATION OF PROGRESS Grading system a) Five-scale b) Three-scale excellent (5) good (4) satisfactory (3) pass (2) fail (1) excellent (5) satisfactory (3) unsatisfactory/fail (1) Types of evaluation 1. Practical course grade (gyakorlati jegy) (according to either the 5-scale or the 3-scale grading system) 2. Semi-final examination (kollokvium) Evaluation of a one-semester subject matter (1–5 grading system) 3. Final examination (szigorlat) Evaluation of the whole subject matter (1–5 grading system) 4. Obligatory practice at hospital (3-scale grading system) Average Results When the student has taken all the compulsory examinations and fulfilled every other obligation during the examination period, the semester will be validated in the student’s lecture book by the Dean’s signature. The student’s average results are: Outstanding (kitûnõ) if the average is 5.00 Excellent (jeles) if the average is 4.51–4.99 Good (jó) if the average is 3.51–4.50 Fair (közepes) if the average is 2.51–3.50 Passing (elégséges) if the average is 2.00–2.50 481

482 EXEMPTION Exemption from courses and examinations may be granted on the basis of the student’s previously documented studies or additional credit-by-examinations stipulated by the departments. The student must submit all relevant documents at the departments concerned. Exemption may be granted by the director of the English Language Program on the basis of the department’s written prior approval. Application deadline: October 1 st – first semester March 1 st – second semester No reduction of tuition fee is granted in case of exemptions.

EXEMPTION<br />
