Lecture: 2 hours per week
Practice: 2 hour per week
Purpose and aim: Genetics and genomic course is an introduction to classical, molecular
genetics and functional genomics. Topics include the types and rules of human inheritance,
structure and organization of human genom and the methods applied in theoretical and clinical
medicine, too. The mechanisms and different forms of genetic and epigenetic variations and their
effect on human health are also discussed. In some selected cases the pathway from a gene to
the manifestation of a disease phenotype is analyzed by the help of system biology approach.
