The goal of the training:<br />

a. Knowledge of diagnostics, ethiopathogenesis and treatment of skin diseases concerning<br />

the competency of general practitioners.<br />

b. Problem-oriented assessment of skin symptoms and the knowledge of their connections<br />

to general medicine.<br />

1,5 hours every week. Half of the fourth year students takes the subject in the first semester, the<br />

other half in the second semester. The curriculum contains the following topics: anatomy and<br />

functions of the skin, dermatoinfectology, oncodermatology, atopic dermatitis, ekzema, drug<br />

eruptions, bullous diseases, allergic skin diseases, autoimmun skin disorders, sexually transmitted<br />

diseases.<br />

2,5 hours every week. Half of the fourth year students takes the subject in the first semester, the<br />

other half in the second semester. Students examine patients, master the description of skin<br />

symptoms, evaluation of symptoms and dermatological treatment options.<br />

Fungal infections are discussed during a special practice.<br />

Important notes:<br />

All preclinical modules are required. Registration in the Neptun system is imperative at the<br />

beginning of the semester.<br />

Attendance of the lectures and practices is compulsory. Three absences are accepted.<br />

Lectures are compulsory. Each student should attend the practice of one particular teacher.<br />

Attendance of a practice at another teacher is accepted for the missed practices. The deputy<br />

teacher’s signature is required.<br />

Semester requirement: One mid-term exam (written test) – around the 10th week of the<br />

semester. Optional: at the end of semester a competition for clinical examination (a written quiz<br />

with projected clinical cases) is announced. The best students are dispensed from taking the<br />

practical part of the semi-final examination.<br />

Sign up in the Neptun system is imperative.<br />

End semester evaluation: Practical part (clinical examination and discussion of one patient) and<br />

theoretical part with randomly selected three main topics compose the semi-final examination.<br />

Exam: Semi-final examination.<br />

Sign up and modifying exam: Via Neptun.<br />

Absence from the exam: Only an official medical certificate is accepted within 3 working days.<br />

PULMONOLOGY<br />

Second semester<br />

Lectures (1 hour per week)<br />

Invasive and noninvasive diagnostic techniques of the lung diseases.<br />

i.e. Fiberoptic bronchoscopy, lung biopsies, B.A.L., radiology,<br />

CT-scan, radioisotope scanning, ultrasound, lung function tests,<br />

immunological examinations.<br />

The lung: anatomy and function (inclusive non-respiratory)<br />

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Diseases<br />

(Small Airway Diseases except: bronchial asthma)<br />

Epidemiology, etiology, diagnosis, clinical picture, therapy.<br />
