MARY S. JAMES
COX
Currently: I am a Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA) in an all women obstetrical
and gynecologic practice. It’s truly the “happy side of medicine.” I believe we
make a difference in the lives of females from puberty, to delivering babies, to
menopause (is it hot in here?) and beyond. I see daily the difference a smiling
face, a caring heart, a listening ear and education makes in someone’s life. I love
what I do! Personally I am married to the love of my life and we stay busy with
our family (all our family but one lives in Bloomington/Normal) and friends.
Favorite Memories: I loved the football games, especially inner-city and the plays
(especially Carousel).
Songs that make me sing: So, so many… those songs were the best, from the
Beatles to the Supremes, the Monkees and the Beach Boys!
Interesting stuff about the last 40 years: Perhaps not so unique but I have stayed
close to three U-High classmates and we get together several times a year by
ourselves or with our spouses. Old friends are the best!
Words of Wisdom: “Life is good!” “My cup is always at least half full and never
half empty.” Strive for success, savor your family and your friendships, seek
happiness…. Share your talents with the world and most of all enjoy life every day
for it’s special uniqueness and beauty. Always count your blessings!
