How To:
1.
Masks & Puppets
Look to our Australian Animal Paper Bag Puppets for inspiration, use
the templates provided in the activity sheet or come up with your
own puppet designs. Let your imagination run wild!
2. Templates: use the templates as a blackline master to cut out and
colour in or cut out individual pieces and use with textured, patterned
or plain paper to create a collage effect. The bags feature a flap
so you can add a face with a mouth underneath as a second layer.
If you are using other bags you may have to adjust your design or
template to suit.
• Koala: Use the koala template or draw your own. Try using collage
items like cotton balls to make the ears fluffy. Attach the koala face
with glue to the bag. Cut out a circle piece of paper and attach to
the middle of the bag to make a tummy.
• Wombat: Use the wombat template or draw your own. Attach the
wombat face with glue to the bag.
• Platypus: Use the platypus template or draw your own. Attach the
platypus face with glue to the bag.
• Kookaburra: Use the kookaburra template or draw your own. Attach
the kookaburra face with glue to the bag. Add some wings and feet
to the body of the kookaburra, cut the wings and feet out of cover
paper and attach with glue.
• Kangaroo: Use the kangaroo template or draw your own. Attach the
kangaroo face with glue to the bag. Add a pouch to the body of
the kangaroo, cut the pouch out of cover paper and attach with
glue.
• Echidna: Use the echidna template or draw your own. Attach the
echidna face with glue to the bag.
