Dr Sir John Te Ahikaiata Turei Memorial Grant
Assistance for Students of Te Reo Ma - ori.
Applications are now being accepted for the Dr Sir John Te Ahikaiata Turei Memorial Grant. This grant is available to
all personnel who are contemplating or currently learning te reo Ma - ori. The grant is an initiative to enhance our
organisation’s overall service delivery capability to the community and will be offered to applicants who would contribute
to the ability of the New Zealand Fire Service to work more effectively with the Ma - ori speaking population.
The grant will be available to assist with tuition fees & resources directly related to your course.
Completed applications are to be sent to Beth Piggott, New Zealand Fire Service, PO Box 2133, Wellington, before 5pm
on Friday 24th June 2005 for consideration.

The grant is available to all staff to assist with
tuition fees & resources directly related to your
reo Maori course – Not overtime costs.
Successful applicants will be required to provide
a brief report on how this grant has been of
benefi t to the individual &/or orgnisation.
CLOSING DATE ENQURIES
PAYMENT
If you supply an invoice with your
application, a cheque will be made
out to the supplier of services.
However if you supply a receipt
with this application, payment will
be made to the applicant.
VALUE OF GRANT
Unless advised, the
maximum value of
each grant will be
$500.00
