(5)Comparison with conventional classification systems<br />

The definition of Pyrophoric Liquids in <strong>GHS</strong>2.9.1 is identical with that of UNRTDG2.4.3.2.2.<br />

In addition, as stated in 2.4.3.3.1, <strong>the</strong> Packing Group <strong>for</strong> it is defined as “I”.<br />

In EmS, Pyrophoric Liquids, along with Solid described in 2-3-10, are classified into Schedule<br />

S-M (Pyrophoric Hazards) or S-L (Pyrophoric substances and water-reactive substances).<br />

In ERG, <strong>the</strong>y are included in Schedule 135 and 136 (Pyrophoric substances), but are not<br />

distinguished from Self-heating Substances and Mixtures described in 2-3-11.<br />

It is judged that Class 1 is identical with UNRTDG4.2 I (Liquids). These substances may also<br />

have <strong>the</strong> property of “Substances and mixtures which, in contact with water, emit flammable<br />
