of the Dangerous Goods List in Chapter 3.2. Each portable tank special provision is identified by an<br />

alpha-numeric designation (e.g. TP1). A listing of the portable tank special provisions is provided in 4.2.5.3.<br />

NOTE: The gases authorized for transport in MEGCs are indicated in the column “MEGC” in<br />

Tables 1 and 2 of packing instruction P200 in 4.1.4.1.<br />

4.2.5.2 Portable tank instructions<br />

4.2.5.2.1 Portable tank instructions apply to dangerous goods of Classes 1 to 9. Portable tank<br />

instructions provide specific information relevant to portable tanks provisions applicable to specific<br />

substances. These provisions shall be met in addition to the general provisions of this Chapter and the<br />

general requirements of Chapter 6.7.<br />

4.2.5.2.2 For substances of Class 1 and Classes 3 to 9, the portable tank instructions indicate the<br />

applicable minimum test pressure, the minimum shell thickness (in reference steel), bottom opening<br />

requirements and pressure relief requirements. In T23, self-reactive substances of Division 4.1 and<br />

Division 5.2 organic peroxides permitted to be transported in portable tanks are listed along with the<br />

applicable control and emergency temperatures.<br />

4.2.5.2.3 Non-refrigerated liquefied gases are assigned to portable tank instruction T50. T50 provides<br />

the maximum allowable working pressures, bottom opening requirements, pressure relief requirements and<br />

degree of filling requirements for non-refrigerated liquefied gases permitted for transport in portable tanks.<br />

4.2.5.2.4 Refrigerated liquefied gases are assigned to portable tank instruction T75.<br />
