Sasipreeyajan et al. (1996) detected Salmonella species in 30
broiler flocks in Thialand from October 1991 to August 1992.
Hoop and Albicker-Rippinger (1997) isolated 37 Salmonella
gallinarum pullorum strains from dead poultry between 1986 and
1996. All strains expect one belonged to the biovar pullorum.
Boonmar et al. (1998) assessed the prevalence of Salmonella
species in chickens in Thailand. In 1997, 22 serovars of Salmonella
species were isolated from 72 out of 100 chicken meat samples
purchased from 10 retail markets in Bangkok and 20 out of 200
chicken sample from one slaughterhouse and 19 out of 285 chicken
feces obtained from three farms located in the east region of Thailand.
The most predominant serovars was S.enteritidis, which was isolated
from 28% of the most retail chicken feces samples examine.
El-Morsi (1998) studied the incidence of the isolated Salmonella
in the examined 25 liver samples of poultry. Positive samples for
Salmonella species were 3 strains (12%). Serological typing for the 3
isolated strains revealing one strain was S.typhimurium (33.3%) and 2
strains were S. gallinarum (66.6%).
Al-Nakhli et al. (1999) described the source and prevalence of
pathogenic salmonella serovars among poultry forms in Saudia Arabia
at the period of 1988 till 1997. A total of 1052 poultry samples and its
