Main objectives of the women entrepreneurs development<br />

strategy in MSEs<br />

Schorling also identified that the primary objective of the Ethiopian strategy framework<br />

is to create an enabling environment for women entrepreneurs in MSEs. In addition to<br />

this basic objective the following specific objectives are stated here:<br />

• Facilitate economic growth and bring about equitable development<br />

• Create long-term jobs<br />

• Strengthen cooperation between women entrepreneurs in MSEs<br />

• Provide the basis for the Medium and Large Scale Enterprises<br />

• Balance preferential treatment between women entrepreneurs in MSEs and<br />

bigger enterprises<br />

• Promote export<br />

• According to the Ethiopian MSE-policy sited in www.bds-ethiopia.net, the Ethio-<br />

German Micro and Small Enterprise Development Strategy focus on four<br />

priorities:<br />

• Enabling Governmental, Non-Governmental (NGO) Agencies and Commercial<br />

Business Development Services (BDS) Providers to implement efficient BDS to<br />

the Ethiopian Business Community<br />

• Strengthen the organizational capacity of the Partner Organizations through<br />

Organizational Development in order to deliver better services to the businesses<br />

• Training of Trainers in order to implement CEFE Trainings (Creation of<br />

Enterprises through Formation of Entrepreneurs)<br />
