<strong>of</strong>fers depictions <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> battles and <strong>the</strong>ir description in text.<br />

However, <strong>the</strong> monument commemorates not only <strong>the</strong> wars<br />

with <strong>the</strong> <strong>Sea</strong> <strong>Peoples</strong> from years 5 and 8 <strong>of</strong> Ramesses III’s<br />

reign (= 1179 BC and 1176 BC), but also preceding ones<br />

against <strong>the</strong> Nubians (considered to be fictitious) and <strong>the</strong>
