INDBXER'S PREFATORY NOTE
This index is, for the most part, the index of 1958 with additions and deletions
as required to include the Acts of the 58th and 59th General Assemblies.
In general, references are made to section numbers. Where the reference is to
chapter or page, such is indicated. Rules of Civil Procedure are referred to by
rule number only. These rules, which are printed in Volume II of the Code, after
the chapters on criminal procedure, are followed by notes indicating related
sections of the Code. The rules are also printed in the Code itself, together with
the related Code sections. However, no reference to this second printing is made
in the index, as it is felt that double references would be confusing, rather than
helpful.
Subject to the limitations imposed by available time and resources, every effort
has been made to prevent errors from appearing in this index. Unfortunately,
errors do occur, and it is essential that such errors be brought to the attention of
the Code Editor, in order that the usefulness of this index be preserved. A thorough
examination and verification of every item appearing in the previous edition
of this index is not possible. For this reason, it is certain that any error, once it
appears in this index, will be perpetuated in subsequent editions unless such
error is brought to the attention of the Code Editor. Any person discovering an
error in this index is urged to notify the Code Editor of such.
