outstanding properties include excellent hydrolytic stability and most impressive hydrophobic characteristics. rapid 4300 has an<br />

excellent curing profile at various temperatues, allowing easy handling and curing in different environments. permanent elasticity<br />

ensures long-term stability and accommodation of cable movement. as a result of the cross-linking reaction, the <strong>resin</strong> bonds strongly to<br />

functional parts, preventing the creation of voids between hardened <strong>resin</strong> and cable insulation.<br />

the <strong>resin</strong>s are supplied with gloves, stirrer and instructions, either as a simple <strong>resin</strong> hardener<br />

combination, or as a filled <strong>resin</strong>. the <strong>resin</strong> is supplied in a sealed bag, preparation of rapid<br />

systems starts immediately before the casting process. the two components are mixed in the<br />

double chamber bag or in a can to start the cross-linking process. the <strong>resin</strong> and hardener is most<br />

effective when mixed at room temperature for at least two minutes using a wide stirrer to avoid<br />

air entrapment. the <strong>resin</strong> cures after mixing to a tough flexible electrically inert mass. the <strong>resin</strong><br />

has a pot life of approximately 15 minutes to allow the joint to be filled, and gels in approximately 1<br />

hour and is fully cured after 24 hours.<br />

in ambient temperatures below 20°c follow recommendations in technical note below.<br />

Technical Note - Cold Temperatures<br />
