5 Preparation<br />

NOTE: This section refers mainly to press calibration, but is also applicable to o<strong>the</strong>r devices such as<br />

proofers or desktop printers<br />

5.1 Secure all materials<br />

Make sure all materials outlined in Section 4 are available. Remember <strong>the</strong> correct inks <strong>and</strong> paper are<br />

<strong>the</strong> most critical components to achieve <strong>the</strong> intended appearance of a GRACoL 7 commercial sheet.<br />

5.2 Assemble <strong>the</strong> press form<br />

A st<strong>and</strong>ard GRACoL 7 press form, illustrated here, can be purchased from www.printtools.org.<br />

GRACoL 7 press form (be sure you have <strong>the</strong> most recent version)<br />

If you want to make up your own form it should ideally contain;<br />

5.2.1 P2P Target<br />

The P2P23x target or later version. On devices with uncertain evenness, for example an offset press,<br />

include two P2P targets, rotated 180° from each o<strong>the</strong>r, as shown in <strong>the</strong> press form above.<br />
