Checklist for preparing to install whirlpool systems
Dear Customer,
Thank you for your interest in our product. The whirlpool system is delivered completely pre-assembled. In order to ensure the correct and safe installation of your whirlpool system, please
note the following points:
1. Connection to power supply
o Connection to power supply Power supply with 230 V/50 Hz
o Fuse Fuse max. 16 A.
Residual-current devices (RCDs) with max. 30 mA rated release current
o Potential equalisation line The system has to be connected to the potential equalisation in the bathroom in accordance with the applicable local rules.
o Mains isolator The connector should be fitted with an all-pole mains switch, which is installed below the bath near the control box. When switched off, this
switch should have a contact gap of at least 3 mm and meet safety requirements IPX5.
o Connection The whirlpool system meets the requirements for devices in protection class I and is to be permanently connected to a distribution box via
fixed cabling of at least 3 x 2.5 mm2.
o Caution The installation of the electrical equipment and any necessary repairs may only be performed by a qualified electrical engineer. The applicable
local regulations must be observed for the electrical installation.
2. Outlet / water connection
o Outlet The waste pipe should have a diameter of 40 - 50 mm and be prefitted near the installation site.
o Water connection Please note the position of the taps. If the whirlpool system is fitted with a Multiplex Trio inlet fitting, the applicable national regulations for
the water installation must be observed. A pipe interrupter is also required.
3. Installation
o Accessibility The technical parts of the whirlpool system must be accessible. To this end, a cover that can be dismantled is required. It should only be
possible to remove this cover using tools.
The position of the mains connection and of the other technical parts depends on the type of whirlpool selected and the bath model (see
product pages).
o Ventilation There has to be a ventilation grate or a ventilation opening; free cross-section min. 40 cm2.
o Installation Please note that the installation height of a whirlpool is often greater than for a normal bath.
The Villeroy & Boch Multibox was specially developed for these requirements and is available for most models.
We recommend installing the whirlpool system against the tiled wall and on the tiled floor. Please take note of the work plan in order to
prevent damage to the whirlpool system.
4. Responsibilities of the customer
o Condition of the floor Ensure that the condition of the floor is suitable to hold the weight of the whirlpool system and that the floor is resistant to moisture.
o Transport Please check the route for transporting the whirlpool system into the bathroom for obstacles (stairs, doors) and check that there is sufficient
room for manoeuvre, etc.
o Ventilation The bathroom should have adequate ventilation (with the help of mechanical ventilation).
o Noise reduction In order to prevent sound bridges, please take note of the following:
-
Direct contact with the building itself must be avoided, for example, with sufficiently large silicon joints or by using special soundproofing
strips.
- The prices are given in Euro excl. VAT.
- All sizes are indicated in mm.
- The installation site should be solid and low-vibration.
- Any contact between the support structure and bath and/or system components must be avoided.
- Tap fittings that are mounted directly onto the rim of the bath should be connected with flexible hoses
Airborne sound is reduced by using insulating material (inside the wall and ceiling cavity) and by avoiding superfluous air outlets (below
-
the whirlpool)
- Replace XX with colour code
- For more information on the colours, see flip-out page and page 603.
