Sacred Heart<br />

Country Day School of the Sacred Heart is<br />

a Pre-K —12, Catholic, independent college<br />

preparatory school for girls. Founded in 1865<br />

by the Religious of the Sacred Heart and lay<br />

owned and governed since 1969, the school<br />

is a member of the Network of Sacred Heart<br />

Schools in the United States. The 21 schools<br />

that comprise the Network are all committed<br />

to the Goals and Criteria that define education<br />

today in the tradition of excellence as<br />

envisioned by St. Madeleine Sophie Barat when<br />

she founded the first Sacred Heart school.<br />

Country Day School of the Sacred Heart, as a Catholic independent school for girls and a<br />

member of the Network of Sacred Heart schools, commits itself to educate to:<br />

♥ Encourage ecumenical dialogue, not only within structured curriculum, but also through<br />

interschool activities<br />

♥ Focus service programs on building lasting relationships with the underserved in the<br />

Philadelphia area<br />

♥ Build relationships with Sacred Heart students nationally and internationally, and<br />

celebrate their traditions<br />

♥ Establish a comprehensive program that will affirm the dignity of and celebrate the<br />

diversity of all members of the Sacred Heart family
