The optimal supply of high-purity water in laboratories<br />
<strong>TKA</strong> <strong>–</strong> LabTower UP is a modularly constructed high-purity water<br />
system that has been specifically designed for the practical and<br />
economical production of high-purity water. The combination of<br />
various purification stages, which includes pretreatment, reverse<br />
osmosis and ion exchange for the removal of residual salts, enables<br />
UP systems to produce a high-purity water that exceeds even<br />
highest quality standards such as ASTM II, CAP, ISO 3696, CLSI and<br />
aqua purificata. The ultra-modern microprocessor control, the<br />
completely drainable 100 L high-purity water tank, plus a low-noise<br />
immersion pump are all standard components. Mounted on rollers,<br />
the compact and elegant LabTower UP is the optimal high-purity<br />
water supply for any laboratory and is so ideally suited as feedwater<br />
source for ultrapure water systems, lab washing machines,<br />
thermodisinfectors, autoclaves and climate chambers, as well as for<br />
numerous analytical purposes and standard chemical applications.<br />

for every laboratory! The system takes up little space and the rollers allow it to be moved to<br />
where it is required. Added to this, the compact construction makes it easily accessible for<br />
operating and service personnel.<br />
• Guaranteed high-purity water quality and economy<br />
High-tech purification stages, such as reverse osmosis and practice-proven ion exchange,<br />
ensure the production of qualitatively top-grade high-purity water. The extremely large volume<br />
of resin in the downstream, regeneratable ion exchange cartridge ensures extremely<br />
economical removal of residual salts.<br />
• Supplies high-purity water without loss in quality<br />
Quality maintenance is assured by the new <strong>TKA</strong> high-purity water tank with an effective<br />
capacity of 100 litres. The tank is equipped with a display that shows the actual volume of<br />
high-purity water in it and a conical bottom for 100% drainage. Optional accessories include a<br />
sterile overflow, a sterile vent filter and a UV immersion tube system with 254 nm wavelength<br />
for protection against re-contamination and bacterial growth.<br />

This is made possible by high-precision, temperature-compensated conductivity monitoring<br />
acc. to USP 30 (645) with exact temperature display, plus a potential-free contact and an RS<br />

System construction and filtration stages - LabTower UP:<br />
• Compact plastic housing that holds all system components and modular<br />
filtration stages <strong>–</strong> mounted on mobile rollers<br />
• Complete pretreatment unit consisting of hardness stabilisation and<br />
a 5 µm combi-cartridge for protection against particles and free chlorine<br />
• High-pressure pump for generation of the operating pressure<br />
• Spiral-wound RO-membrane with pressure tube and all necessary fittings<br />
for the removal of organic and inorganic compounds, microorganisms,<br />
particles and colloids<br />
• Solenoid valves for feedwater inflow and quality-rinse<br />
• Adjusting valve for setting the operating pressure<br />
• High-precision measuring cells for the monitoring and display of the electrical<br />
conductivity in µS/cm as well as temperature in °C<br />
• High-purity water dispensing valve on the system itself for exact and accurate<br />

Characteristics and functions of the digital control:<br />
The digital microprocessor control is equipped with an illuminated, adjustable, four-line<br />
alphanumerical LCD-Display with 16 characters for the display of all operating functions<br />
and performance parameters in clear text:<br />
• Integrated in a plastic housing, protection class IP 55, with membrane keyboard<br />
that allows simple start and operating procedure input<br />
• High-precision conductivity measurement with temperature compensation that can be<br />
switched off and individually settable limiting values for high-purity and ultrapure water<br />
• High-precision conductivity measurement cell in coaxial construction with a measured<br />
out cell constant of 0.01 and built-in reference resistor for fully automatic balancing<br />
of conductivity measurements prior to each measurement.<br />
• The conductivity measurement unit can be switched between µS/cm and MΩ x cm, the<br />
language between English, German and French<br />
• Exact temperature measurement in °C with temperature compensation that can be<br />
switched off, a measurement accuracy of ± 0.1°C, and integated platinum chip sensor<br />
• Fault storage for all faults that have occurred during the previous four weeks and<br />
display of the fault messages in clear text<br />
• Real-time clock and code-protected operating system for prevention of unauthorised<br />
changes to the system and default settings<br />
• RS 232 Interface with adjustable sending interval for data transmission of all measured<br />
values and faults to a PC or data printer, complete with date and time<br />
