Description of the system:
Ready-to-connect reverse osmosis system for demineralization of
softened or hardness- stabilized tap water which complies with potable
water regulations. It fulfils the following requirements:
Colloid index: max. 3
Salt content: max. 2,000 mg/Litre
Free chlorine concentration: < 0.01 mg/Litre
Manganese content: < 0.05 mg/Litre
Iron content: < 0.05 mg/Litre
Design of the system:
RO 300 DS consists of a free-standing, compact, closed and dust-protective cabinet with inspection
panel door, which contains all components including pre-treatment, a reverse osmosis module and
digital microprocessor control. It can be upgraded to a maximum of 1.100 l/h should water
requirements increase. RO 300 DS is an ideal choice for supplying washing machines, autoclaves,
sterilizers and automatic cleaners, air conditioners and cooling systems, industrial cleaning equipment
and steam boilers, as well as sources of energy such as fuel cells etc..
Construction of the system and filtration steps
1 x Free-standing, compact, closed electronic cabinet with inspection panel door, designed to hold
all system components
1 x 20“ Filter housing with activated carbon + 5 µm filter combi- cartridge for protection of
downstream components against free chlorine and coarse particles
1 x 20“ Filter housing with 3 µm particle filter cartridge for protection of downstream components
from particles
1 x Safety pressure switch protects against dry-running by switching off when the feed water
pressure is too low
1 x Pressure gauge for feed water and operating pressure for monitoring of the system and simple
fault finding should a system fault occur
1 x High pressure pump for generation of the operating pressure required to drive the permeation
of water through the membrane
1 x Spiral-wound membrane, together with pressure tube and all fittings required, for the removal
of organic and inorganic contaminants, micro organisms, particles and colloids
2 x Flow meters for display of concentrate and permeate flow
2 x Regulating valves for adjustment of operating pressure and water conversion factor
3 x Solenoid valves for the supply of feed water, quality rinse and permeate discard
2 x Measuring cells for the determination of feed water and permeate conductivities
1 x Complete piping, materials PP, POM, PA and stainless steel
1 x Digital microprocessor control for fully automatic monitoring and control of the reverse osmosis

Characteristics and functions of the digital control:
The digital microprocessor control includes an illuminated, two-line, alpha-numeric LCD display with
16 characters for the display of all operating functions and performance parameters. Major features
are:
• The plastic housing in which it is contained, protection type IP 65, has a plastic-foil keypad for
start and flow of operations
• High precision conductivity measurement in µS/cm for feed water and permeate, with limiting
values for permeate or high purity water which can be set as required
• High safety standard assured by an integrated main switch for voltage shut-off, a protective
motor switch for safeguarding the pump, and micro fuses for all users and the control voltage
of the electronics
• Simple fault diagnosis/display, with fault display for feed water pressure, operating pressure
gauge, and 230V/50Hz for display of faults by means of signal lamps and fault messages in
the display
• Cyclic, individually adjustable internal rinse for combating bacterial growth during standstill,
cleaning and disinfection menu, automatic permeate discard, and return to the last operating
mode following a power cut
• Possibility of connecting a water level controller, accessories and external commanders, as
well as potential-free contacts and fault message displays
• RS 232 interface with the possibility of connecting a serial printer with display of data and time
via a real-time clock
