It not only softens the water but also efficiently cleans it and so protects the osmosis membranes from blockage. In addition to calcium and magnesium, it also removes iron and manganese, a great variety of suspended matter and organic material. The secret lies in the combination of multiple adsorption stages, from porous polymeric adsorbers to ion exchangers.
