MyANMAR<br />
In compliance with the Law, in 2006, the Central Body for<br />
Suppression of Trafficking in Persons, chaired by the Minister<br />
of the Ministry of Home Affairs, was formed as a national<br />
mechanism to combat human trafficking, and under the<br />
Central Body, the different levels of State, Divisional, District<br />
and Township Bodies for Suppression of Trafficking in Persons<br />
were also formed. Under the supervision and guidelines<br />
of the Central Body, anti-trafficking measures have been<br />
implemented by the different level bodies, in collaboration<br />
with local organizations, UN and international organizations,<br />
across the country.<br />
In addition the following 3 Working Groups were formed<br />
by the CBTIP: Working Group on Prevention of Trafficking in<br />
Person and Protection of Trafficked Vicitms, headed by the<br />
Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Home Affairs; Working<br />
Group on Legal Framework and Prosecution Measures<br />
headed by the Deputy Attorney General; and Working<br />
Group on Repatriation, Reintegration and Rehabilitation of<br />
Trafficked Victims headed by the Deputy Minister for the<br />
Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement.<br />
