Where the offence causes<br />
the victim:<br />

Article 134 of the Lao Penal Law (2005)<br />
criminalises human trafficking and<br />
attempts to commit trafficking offences.<br />
Article 24 of the Law on the Development<br />
and Protection of Women (2004)<br />
criminalises trafficking in women and<br />
children, and acting as an accomplice,<br />
and provides information on various<br />
acts that could be considered to have<br />
been committed as an accomplice.<br />
This includes providing ideas, property,<br />
transportation, concealment of persons<br />
or destruction of evidence. This Article<br />
does not, however, apply to male victims.<br />
Penalties are specified under Article<br />
134 and Article 34 of the Lao Penal<br />
Law (2005) and Article 49 of the Law<br />
on the Development and Protection of<br />
Women (2004).<br />
