Preparation for Usage<br />
Loading Originals in the Document Processor (option)<br />

Use the optional document processor to automatically read multi-page originals one page at a time.<br />
Also automatically turn over and read both sides of two-sided originals.<br />
The document processor supports the following types of originals.<br />

Precautions on Types of Originals for Document Processor<br />
Do not use the document processor for the following types of originals. Additionally, if originals have<br />
punched holes or perforations, load them with the holes or perforations away from the leading edge.<br />
• Transparent films such as OHP transparencies<br />
• Delicate originals such as carbon paper, heavily crumpled paper, or vinyl sheets<br />
• Irregularly shaped (non-rectangular) originals, wet originals, or originals containing adhesive<br />
tape or glue<br />
• Remove clips or staples and straighten any curls, wrinkles, or creases before loading. Failure to<br />
do so may cause the originals to jam.<br />
• Originals with cut-out sections or with very slippery surfaces<br />
• Originals with correction fluid that has not dried<br />
• Straighten the folds of bent originals before loading. Failure to do so may cause the originals to<br />
jam.<br />

NOTE: Original loaded indicator shows the state of the originals.<br />
When upper indicator is lit green: The original is set.<br />
When upper indicator blinks green: Reset the original.<br />
When lower indicator blinks red: The original is jammed. Refer to Clearing Paper Jams on<br />
page 6-15.<br />
