At approximately 10:26am on February 20, 2013, Uniformed Harlingen Police
Officers were dispatched to the 3300 block of Lazy Lake Drive, in reference to a
Burglary in progress. As Officers arrived at location, they observed a white four-door
vehicle in the driveway. Responding Officers made entry into the vacant residence, and
heard noises coming from the upstairs area. The Officers made their way upstairs, and
confronted two male subjects in one of the bedrooms. The male subjects had removed an
AC unit from a closet, after cutting the attached wires and copper pipes. Both subjects
were immediately detained, and the rest of the building was cleared. Contact was made
with the property owner, who advised that he wanted to file charges against the male
subjects for entering the building and attempting to steal property. Both subjects
(identified as ORLANDO GABINO DELGADO and RODRIGO ABRAHAM
RODRIGUEZ) were placed under arrest for the Offense of BURGLARY OF BUILDING
(State Jail Felony), and later transported to the City Jail for processing. During booking
procedures, it was discovered that DELGADO had initially given a false name of “Sam
Reeves” to the Arresting Officers. DELGADO was additionally charged with FAIL TO
IDENTIFY (Class “B” Misdemeanor).
