PINE LAKES SINGLES
By: Fran Douma
On February 12 th the doors opened once again for
another Singles meeting. After a rather low turnout for
the January meeting, I was surprised and delighted to
see how many Ladies and Gentlemen were lined up
waiting to pay for their dinner and buy 50/50 and Raffle
tickets. Once seated, they enjoyed their monthly
social hour with laughter, stories and drinks. The meeting
opened with Valentine greetings to all. Marilyn
Hilliard gave the secretary’s Report followed by Eldine
Thelen’s treasurer’s report.
Winners of the clubs giveaways were as follows:
50/50 - Honor Maklory, Ray Weimer, Barb Platt, Gil
Stone, Mickey Casciano, and Terry Kline. A $20.00 gift
card to Mel’s Diner went to Jan Lambka and one free
dinner, Audrey Rolland.
Dinner by Sub N Pub followed. The menu consisted
of salad, chicken cordon blue, dressing ,Two veggies,
rolls and coffee with Valentine cup cakes. Following
dinner, the Bayshore Cloggers walked in with their
usual beautiful costumes and smiling faces. They were
ready to perform for us and gave us an excellent show.
The audience clapped and cheered them on. They
were really enjoyed by all.
Our next meeting will be March 12 th . As we all
know we celebrate a special occasion called St Patrick’s
ANNUAL SNOWBIRD FOOD DRIVE
(to benefit the Salvation Army)
On March 30th we will conduct our annual food
drive. We ask that you put your donated food items by
your cul-de-sac number by 9 a.m. We will have volunteers
picking up the food between 9:30 and 10:00 a.m.
We ask that you not put any opened jars or packages
in your donation.
We have always had a successful drive and hope
this year will be no different. The need is greater than
ever, and the Salvation Army needs our help to stock
their pantry and shelter kitchen. We hope you will be
as generous as you can.
