WELCOME
When Claude Verney-Carron founded his gun making business in Saint-Etienne in 1820, he already had almost two centuries of family
skill, know-how, ingenuity, and love of fine craftsmanship upon which to rely. And when this same artisan gunsmith chose as his
wife the daughter of a gunmaker, it represented more than just a marriage: it represented the alliance of the skills and talents of both
families, the legitimate transmission of the secrets of two dynasties of master craftsmen.
This union meant the “in-house” safeguarding of a unique technological and human heritage that has subsequently enabled
Verney-Carron to write some of the most memorable pages of French gun making history.
In 2004, Verney-Carron, while continuing to remain open to the now crucially important new technologies, decided to purchase the
traditional artisan gun making company Demas, and thus “L’Atelier Verney-Carron” was born: an artisanal gun making workshop
specialising in the manufacture of prestigious hunting weapons that are even harder to equal - in essence the very summit of the gun
making tradition.
This alliance of vital creative forces, of the skills and know-how of the two companies, and the resulting pooling of knowledge and
talent, has led to the creation of a range of prestigious high-performance products: masterpieces that harmoniously blend skill,
artisanal craftsmanship and the very latest technology.
L’Atelier Verney-Carron produces a range of luxurious, top-quality hunting weapons that combine superb lines with an utterly

These personalised weapons, each and every one of which receives the individual attentions of our Master Gunsmiths, are tested in our

Warning: this side-by-side shotgun has pushed the boundaries of
perfection. Armed to seduce and designed with neither concession nor
compromise, this shotgun claims its rightful place amongst the handful

Just looking at it is a gift in itself, so closely do the curves approach

Only a workshop of Master Gunmakers could bring back to life the
ancient technique of Damascus steel and apply it to modern day
production. L’Atelier Verney-Carron has chosen one of its jewels to meet
this technological challenge. The AZUR DAMAS side-by-side
double rifle is a rare and precious firearm - the UFO of the gun world
(Unique Fabulous Object). While the use of Damascus steel is a
fantastic technical feat in itself, the amazing marriage of the model and
the material produces a result that will undoubtedly appeal to any
connoisseur.

When an exceptional product is blessed with an equally exceptional
finish, the result is truly breathtaking. The term “éloges” (eulogy) is more
than justified in describing this sublime creation: the wood is quite
simply incomparable in terms of color and veined figuring; the engraving,
produced by hand by a Master Engraver, is fine English-style ornamental
in deep relief or banknote style with African animal subjects.
This masterpiece of the gunmaker’s art is enhanced with a plethora of
further details, including sculpted forend screw surrounds, steel pistol
grip cap with storage reservoir, and side plates.

This masterpiece is based on the world famous bolt action Mauser
M98 Magnum system, thus combining the incomparable solidity of
the system with the clear-sightedness of L’Atelier Verney-Carron.
The general line of the weapon has been reworked with finesse, providing
elegant shapely curves and an excellent grip. An unmistakable sign of a
classic big game rifle: the furniture is 4-star walnut with an ebony forend
tip. The hand engraving is produced by a Master Engraver in semi deep
relief or banknote style, accentuating the line of the rifle and conferring
a note of nobility, in the purest tradition of the safari rifle.
