Shelf Life undiluted is 12 months
The sterilant is sold in powder form in 81 gm pots and is sufficient to
make up 5 litres of solution once diluted.

Safety Related Aspects of
PeraSafe Solution
Properties: Appearance: Clear, blue solution, faint peracetyl type odour.
PH: 8.0
Flash point: Not flammable
Hazard
Summary: The solution is of low acute toxicity to users. Once diluted, skin irritation is
unlikely to cause a problem unless an individual is particularly sensitive to
PeraSafe or any of its components. With the eye, irritation is possible and this
must be treated immediately.
No inhalation problems are expected under normal conditions. Preparation of
the in-use solution at the correct temperature (30-40 0 ) allows minimal release
of odour to the atmosphere. Temperatures in excess of 40 o C for preparation
and storage of solution are not recommended, however.
First Aid
Guidance: Eye: Irrigate thoroughly with water or eye wash. Seek
medical advice if irritation persists.
Skin: Remove contaminated clothing and rinse thoroughly with water.
Ingestion: Wash out mouth and drink plenty of water. Seek medical
advice if a significant quantity ingested.
Inhalation: Remove affected person to fresh air.
Handling,
Storage and
Spillage: PeraSafe is incompatible in direct contact with strong alkalis,
Hypochlorites and cationic detergents. Hospital neutral
detergents are acceptable for use with PeraSafe.
Store the solution in clean plastic containers under cool conditions and use
within 24 hours of preparation.
PeraSafe solution does not cause any serious environmental problems, when
diluted to waste with water via a foul sewer drain.
