1 Neat is defined as the product was tested as received, without the inclusion of aggregates. Extended is defined as the product was extended with aggregates
either added during the mixing process or pre-packaged with the addition of aggregates. These repair materials are only approved based on the condition
that they were tested (neat or extended). Further testing may be necessary to ensure the material meets the requirements of DMS-4655 if the contents of the
material change (e.g. either adding aggregates to the neat product or not extending the product and using it in the neat condition).
2 Aggregate was added separately to the product during mixing to extend. Type of aggregate (siliceous or limestone) may significantly increase or decrease
the coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) or the modulus of elasticity (MOE). Typically limestone aggregates have lower CTE and MOE values than
siliceous aggregates.
3 Aggregate is pre-blended as part of the product.
Curing Instructions: For overlays, the surface should be covered promptly after final finishing with a single, clean
layer of wet burlap followed by a layer of clear polyethylene film. Patches can be water cured
by maintaining a moist sheen on the surface. The curing should continue until the concrete has
reached the strength desired (usually 1-3 hours after the final finishing). During this period
apply more water, as needed, to keep the entire concrete surface continuously wet.
Curing Instructions: For overlays, the surface should be covered promptly after final finishing with a single, clean
layer of wet burlap followed by a layer of clear polyethylene film. Patches can be water cured
by maintaining a moist sheen on the surface. The curing should continue until the concrete has
reached the strength desired (usually 1–3 hours after the final finishing). During this period
apply more water, as needed, to keep the entire concrete surface continuously wet.
55 lb. bag Extended 5 None No 7.4 3 5,486 4
Curing Instructions: Water curing Rapid Set® DOT Repair Mix installations is recommended. Begin water curing
as soon as the surface has lost its moist sheen and continue for a minimum of one hour. As an
alternative to water curing, curing compounds that meet ASTM C 309 Type II Class B may be
used. Apply these curing compounds in accordance with the manufacture's recommendations.
50 lb. bag Neat None No 7.2 3 6,683 4
Curing Instructions: When an epoxy coating will not be applied, wet cure the surface with water and polyethylene
sheets at least one day, or use a curing compound. VERSASPEED LS can be coated with epoxy
systems after 5 hours at 70°F (21°C). Cooler temperatures will increase the time before a
coating can be applied.
1
Neat is defined as the product was tested as received, without the inclusion of aggregates.
2
Mixing admixture, supplied by the producer, must be used with the use of this product to meet the specification requirements.
3
Coefficient of thermal expansion is greater than DMS specified maximum of 6.0 micro strain/°F.
4
Modulus of elasticity is greater than DMS specified maximum of 5,000 ksi.
5
Aggregate was added to the product during mixing to extend. Type of aggregate (siliceous or limestone) may significantly increase or decrease the
coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) or the modulus of elasticity (MOE). Typically, limestone aggregates have lower CTE and MOE values than
siliceous aggregates.
6
Aggregate is pre-blended as part of the product.
