Jared Graves pins-it.
Jared Graves – Team Yeti/FOX
We tested quite a bit last season. With the latest
improvements in tuning I don’t have to worry about going
to a stiffer spring for efficiency. The damping gives me the
traction I need with proper sag set-up. You can just pin-it.
Rich Houseman – NMBS 4X Champion
I’ve been riding FOX Suspension for several years, and
they’ve always led the way with new and innovative ideas
for going fast over rough terrain! After testing the newest
suspension set-ups FOX has been working on, the bar
has been raised! Better damping and lighter spring rates
made for significant improvements in the fork. Under hard
braking and pinning it through rock sections, the fork was
very responsive and easily controllable.
Justin Leov – New Zealand National Champion
My favorite FOX product is the FOX 40 RC2 and it is
because of its super plush feel, amazing light weight
and active range of adjustments. The FOX 40 RC2 is a no
nonsense race fork which can handle weekend after
weekend of abuse and still offer the same incredible ride
as when it first got put on your bike. When we tested
the 08 set-up I found I could hold a tighter line in
off-camber world cup courses.
FOX has enhanced my performance with the ability to
be able to control and tune my ride to any conditions I
have to face, either on the World Cup circuit or out on
a casual ride at home. Having a suspension product that
works extremely well benefits everyone’s enjoyment and
with a FOX product you know you will get that, no
matter what terrain.
Adam Craig - XC, Super D, Short Track Racer
I’m a mountain bike rider. Pure and Simple. My world
goes round because I get to rail around in the woods
every day at some point. To that end, having suspension
components that just work is something I hold close
to heart. The new damping system helps the front end of
the bike ride higher in the travel so the fork doesn’t dive
on technical courses. The benefit is that I don’t have
to run a super-stiff set-up, which lets my suspension
work as it should and allows me to have an efficient XC
race set-up. It’s real important to me to be able to perfectly
preload off a roller with a smile on my face then
whack it into a berm harder than any XC bike has business
being whacked and somehow get away with it for the
millionth time, smile intact... Fox components have the
priceless combination of velvet damping and stiff, solid,
real world compatible chassis that keep me on track
regardless of whether it’s the racetrack or some backcountry
singletrack, places I hold in equal regard.
Mark Fitzsimmons - FOX Race Manager/Test Rider
When you spend the time up front making a great performing
product, the most difficult part is finding that
extra 5% to make it even better. Similar to the dedication
required by an athlete breaking out of the top ten and
getting on the podium. You have to dig deep. The tuning
changes we have worked on and made for 2008 give us
that extra 5% of a performance advantage. That 5% can
make the difference of 2 seconds in a race run or a sprint
finish resulting in a medal or a loss. This is what we are
striving for, that extra 5% and the medal.
Going into detail of how we gained that 5% is complex
and involves tedious tuning and endless testing with highly
sophisticated equipment. The 2008 compression, rebound,
and damping consistency changes will provide control and
confidence resulting in taking the rider and us to the next
level. We both win.
Kyle Strait - Phenom
For me it’s always been about confidence. I have been
with FOX for most of my career and ever since I was
much younger I have always wanted to ride FOX
suspension. I can attempt anything on my bike and never
have to think twice about my suspension’s capability. It’s
an honor to be a part of such a company that has such
great precision in their work. Their products are perfect.
The product doesn’t fail me no matter how big I go. I can
rely on it and depend on it. The last thing that I have to
think about before and during an event is the reliability of my
suspension. In a confidence driven sport, this is critical.
Will Longden – UK 4X Champion
My favorite FOX product is the Beanie, I’m going bald and
it’s great to have something cool to wear at the races so
I look like a young guy again. (hehehe)
FOX Racing Shox helped me to forget about my bike.
When everything works perfectly you can just get in the
zone and ride to your limits, the bike becomes an extension
of you and that’s when the magic happens!
With Float suspension front and rear on my 4X race bike
I had the speed of a bike that pedaled like a hardtail but
a bike that tracked and gripped like a DH rig. This control
gave me a National 4X title. Thanks guys
Marc Beaumont – UK National Champion
They give me the confidence of knowing that every time I
ride my bikes I can give it 100% knowing that my FOX
products won,t let me down.
Scott Papola – NMBS Semi Pro DH Champion
FOX helped me in my racing by knowing that I was never
going to have any issues during my races. That I was on
the correct suspension to push my self to the limit.
FOX’s race support is the most important, always making
sure your suspension is as tuned as it can be.
Fabien Barel – 2X World Champion
Mountain biking : Few disciplines, few different way to do
it but only one philosophy... Nature, Physical, Adrenaline,
all that around Passion.
As all sport, the human performance needed is very
important but the Bike is part of it. The Tires are your
feet to grip and the suspensions are your legs to absorb
impact. You are going to tell me that it comes back to
human perfromance, and you are right ! FOX Racing shox
with the DHX 5.0 and its all crew help me everyday to
stick to the ground when I have my head on fire over the
limits. Thank you guys for your great support and see
you on tracks next year.
Marla Streb – Luna Chix and MTB Legend
My favorite FOX Fork is the RLT F100. It’s like a
rebellious teenager - acts bigger and tougher than its
feathery weight would justify. I used it during the La
Ruta stage race this year. Over 40,000 feet of locked
out climbing, and then down jagged volcanoes, rutted
jungles and treacherous river crossings. Everything felt
like a fluffy cloud to my FOX and me. I never leave home
without getting on my FOX.
Geoff Kabush - NMBS Short Track Champion
When my bike is geared up for XC race performance my
favourite set-up a FOX F100 RLT on the front and the
FOX RP23 on the rear. I have given up on hardtails and
only race full suspension now because my FOX Shox
work incredibly well and are so effficient. When the trail
gets rough I know I am going to be in the driver’s seat
because my FOX Shox work; they don’t just look pretty,
they are trail tested and I know the fork and shock is
going to be smooth from start to finish.
FOX represents a company that you can trust to deliver
a product that works; you can feel the difference. When
I am racing I push my bike hard and demand a lot from
my FOX Shox; it is nice to know that they will always be
there to deliver.
Tara Llanes – USA DH Champion
By giving me the best bike setup over all my competitors
and the peace of mind knowing that I had the best bike out
there to win my 2006 US National Downhill Championship.
Ben Reid – Irish National champion
Riding for FOX has helped so much at races. There race
support team is a big benefit as I found they really listen
to what you are saying about the Fork or Rear shock and
are able to set it up for you exactly how you want. Also
at the beginning of every season FOX runs a set-up camp
and they make sure all there riders get there suspension
in tune before the season starts.
When I first went to FOX I definitely noticed a major
difference in having a more rigid front end apart from this
making the bike track better when cornering it seems to
give you more confidence to hit stuff faster. With the
rear shock being so smooth also I really noticed a
difference over small bumps and in tracking.
Better tracking means more corner speed.
Just what every rider wants!
Candace Shadley – Founder Rocky Mountain Dirt Series
When we’re teaching, it’s all about the participants --
what they want to learn, how their skills are progressing,
and what we can do to give them the best riding day
possible. With that kind of focus, it’s great to be using
equipment that we never have to worry about, and that we
know will always perform. Where suspension is
concerned, there’s no one we would choose over FOX.
Rob Howard – Founder and CEO Bikeskills
The DHX family of rear shocks lets you dial-in whatever
you want in terms of rear suspension performance.
In many cases, the difference between a poorly performing
bike and a great one is as easy as replacing the stock
shock with a FOX DHX.
Mark Sevenoff – Co-Owner, Western Spirit Cycling
As owner/guide of Western Spirit Cycling I’ve got to be
supremely confident in all my equipment. Between guiding
clients, pitching camp, and fixing meals, there’s rarely time
to even oil my chain. Riding FOX means I don’t have to
worry about my own bike and can focus on the guests
having fun.
