R - 27, 28<br />

(a) authorised leave of absence;<br />

(b) unauthorised absence in continuation of authorised leave of<br />

absence so long as the post of absentee is not filled<br />

substantively;<br />

(c) suspension, where it is immediately followed by reinstatement,<br />

whether in the same or a different post, or where the<br />

Government servant dies or is permitted to retire or is retired<br />

on attaining the age of compulsory retirement while under<br />

suspension;<br />

(d) abolition of office or loss of appointment owing to reduction of<br />

establishment;<br />

(e) transfer to non-qualifying service in an establishment under<br />

the control of the Government if such transfer has been ordered<br />

by a competent authority in the public interest;<br />

(f) joining time while on transfer from one post to another.<br />

(2) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-rule (1), the pension<br />

sanctioning authority may, by order, commute retrospectively<br />

the periods of absence without leave as extraordinary leave.<br />

28. Condonation of interruption in service :-<br />

The interruption between two or more 1 [spells of Government service<br />

or] between non Government service (as service under Municipalities, District<br />

Boards etc.) and Government service or between two spells of non<br />

Government service shall be treated as automatically condoned without any<br />

formal orders of the sanctioning authority without restrictions as regards<br />

periods of interruption as well as the length of period preceding interruption<br />

excluding, however, the periods of interruption themselves.<br />

Note :- The provisions of the above rule do not apply to interruptions<br />

between non regular military (purely temporary) service and<br />

civil service.<br />
