APNDIX - IV<br />

The following procedure shall be followed for the payment of commuted<br />

value of pension to the survivors in the event of death of the pensioner<br />

before receiving the same.<br />

i) A person who is eligible to file the application for commutation<br />

of pension under the existing rules (whether under the medical or<br />

non-medical scheme) shall make a nomination in the form given in Annexure<br />

- IV to this Appendix and attach it to the application for commutation<br />

of pension conferring on one or more persons the right to receive the<br />

commuted value of pension in case the applicant dies without receiving the<br />

commuted value on or after the date on which the commutation becomes<br />

absolute.<br />

ii) If there is no such nomination or if the nomination made does<br />

not subsist, the commutation value shall be paid to the family in the manner<br />

indicated in Rule 47 (b) of Andhra Pradesh, Revised Pension Rules <strong>1980</strong>.<br />

iii) If in any case, the commuted value cannot be paid in the manner<br />

indicated in paras (i) & (ii) above the same shall be paid to his legal heirs.<br />

18. Restoration of Commuted portion of Pension :-<br />

The commuted portion of pension was ordered to be restored<br />

to the pensioners on completion of 15 years from their date of retirement,<br />

if the commutation was simultaneous with retirement.<br />

If there is any time gap between the date of retirement and<br />

date of commutation, the commuted portion of pension shall be restored after<br />

expiry of 15 years from the date on which reduction in Pension on account<br />

of commutation became/becomes effective.<br />

No pensioner shall be entitled to commute his/ her Pension<br />

again on the ground that the commuted portion has been restored to him/her.<br />
