Pensioner should submit application :<br />

2. The pensioner after completing the particulars in Part-I of Form<br />

‘A’ of the application for commutation of pension should submit it to the head<br />

of the office from where he retires.<br />

Action to be taken by the Head of the Office :<br />

3. On receipt of the application for commutation from the pensioner,<br />

the head of the office will scrutinise the particulars given in Part-I of<br />

Form ‘A’ of application for commutation of pensions with reference to the<br />

pension file, if it is with him, and transmit the same to the commutation<br />

sanctioning authority by completing Part-II of Form ‘A’.<br />

Action to be taken by the Pension Sectioning Authority :<br />

4. The pension sanctioning authority on receipt of the application<br />

for commutation of pensions from the head of the office should verify<br />

the particulars in the form with reference to the pension file, if the pension file<br />

is not with the Head of the office but is with him. If it is already verified by the<br />

Head of office with reference to the pension file no further scrutiny is necessary<br />

again by the Pension sanctioning authority, who will accord administrative<br />

sanction for the commutation for a lump payment of the pension as<br />

found admissible under the rules by the Accountant-General subject to the<br />

Medical authorities’ recommendations, by completing Part-I of Form ‘B’ of the<br />

application.<br />

Where, however, the head of the office is the pension sanctioning<br />

authority he will accord administrative sanction for payment of the<br />

commutation for a lump payment of the pension as found admissible under<br />

the rules, by the Accountant-General subject to the medical authorities’ recommendations<br />

by completing Part-I of Form ‘B’ and forward the application.<br />

Thereafter, the pension sanctioning authority shall forward the application<br />

to the District Medical Officer/Medical Board to arrange for the medical<br />

examination of the applicant by the proper medical authority by completing<br />

Part-II of Form ‘B’.<br />

Note : The pensioner shall be asked to appear for Medical Examination<br />

before the District Medical Officer of the District in which he draws<br />

his pension or any other Medical Officer selected by the Government in case
