(d) w.e.f. 31.3.1990 the formula for Retirement gratuity was as follows.<br />

(i) one-third of the emoluments for each completed six monthly period of<br />

service subject to a limit of 20 months emoluments or Rs.50,000<br />

whichever is less.<br />

OR<br />

(ii) one-fourth of the emoluments for each completed six monthly period<br />

of service subject to the limit of 16 1/2 months emoluments or<br />

Rs.1,00,000/- which ever is less<br />

in accordance with the choice exercised by the Government servant.<br />

(B) NOTE : After 30-1-99, the rule position was as follow :<br />

(i) The formula for calculation of Retirement Gratuity was changed as 1/<br />

4th of the Pay last drawn for each completed six monthly periods of<br />

service (subject to a maximum of sixty six monthly periods) or 16 1/2<br />

months pay last drawn or Rs.1,75,000/- whichever is less in respect<br />

of employees who retired / died on or after 30-01-1999. <strong>As</strong> per<br />

G.O.Ms.No.14, Fin & Plg (FW.Pen.I) Dept., dt 30-01-1999.<br />

(ii) The ceiling was further enhanced from Rs. 1,75,000/- to Rs. 2,50,000<br />

/- w.e.f. 1-4-99 without any change in the formula for calculation as<br />

ordered in G.O.mention in (i) above, in respect of employee who retired<br />

/ died on or after 1-4-1999. <strong>As</strong> per G.O.Ms.No.157, Fin & Plg (FW.Pen.I)<br />

Dept., dt 16-9-1999.<br />

II. In the case of death while in service after completing five years qualifying<br />

service the amount of Retirement gratuity shall not be less than *9<br />

times his emoluments subject to the monetary ceilings specified in (i)<br />

above from time to time.<br />

(ii) where disciplinary or judicial proceedings against a Government<br />

servant are pending on the date of his retirement, provisional pension is<br />

authorised under Article 351-B of Andhra Pradesh Pension Code - Volume<br />

I/Rule 52 of the Andhra Pradesh Revised Pension Rules, <strong>1980</strong>. No gratuity<br />

is paid in such cases until the conclusion of the proceedings and issue of<br />

final orders thereon. The gratuity, if allowed to be drawn by the competent<br />

authority on conclusion of the proceedings will be deemed to have fallen due<br />

on the date of issue of final orders by the competent authority in such proceedings.
